Welcome, my name is Jane

Welcome, my name is Jane and I offer online therapy, giving you the flexibility to access support from a space that feels safe and familiar. I offer a calm space for people who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of what comes next. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support, especially when life feels heavy. My role is to walk alongside you, not to tell you who to be, but to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside, silenced, or forgotten.

I have experience working in a trauma informed practice and working in a Christian organisation, alongside my private practice. Alongside my counselling work, I bring years of experience supporting children and families in caring, people-focused settings. This has given me a steady foundation in listening well, building trust, and offering calm support when life feels overwhelming.

What it feels like to work together

I work with warmth, patience, and curiosity. I listen closely, without rushing you or expecting you to have everything figured out. Together, we can explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are shaping your life, gently making sense of what feels confusing or painful. You’re welcome to bring whatever you’re carrying — there is no “right way” to begin.

Approach and trauma-informed pacing

My approach is grounded in compassion and respect. I believe that healing happens in a relationship: in being truly heard, understood, and met with kindness and transparency. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or a sense of disconnection from yourself, I offer a space where you can breathe, reflect, and grow at a pace that feels safe.

I’m a counsellor with a wealth of experience. My foundation is person-centred, but I draw from a range of other therapeutic modalities to shape a way of working that feels right for you. Healing is not linear, and it’s never one-size-fits-all — it’s a creative, evolving process we navigate together. I have experience working in a trauma-informed practice and working in a Christian organisation, alongside my private practice.

As a trauma-informed practitioner, I pay close attention to safety, pacing, and choice. I understand how important it is to feel grounded and in control of your own journey. My role is to offer steadiness, curiosity, and compassion as you explore whatever you’re carrying. You’re welcome to take things gently, at a pace that feels safe.

Christian counselling (if this is meaningful for you)

For those who hold a Christian faith, I also offer Christian counselling, integrating spiritual understanding. This is always led by your preferences — never assumed, never imposed. It’s simply another way of honouring the whole of who you are.

Christian counselling can also be a space to explore faith-related experiences — including doubts, confusion, hurt, or times when faith has felt complicated or painful. Some people have experienced spiritual pressure or difficulty within faith communities, and it can help to speak with someone who understands that world. As always, we will work in a way that feels respectful, gentle, and led by you.

Working holistically

I also work holistically, bringing in creative approaches that support expression beyond words. This might include imagery, metaphor, grounding practices, or reflective exercises that help you connect with your inner world in new ways.

Alongside this, I offer psychoeducation to help you understand your mind and body, and to gently retrain unhelpful patterns of thinking. Knowledge can be empowering — it can help you make sense of your experiences and feel more in control of your healing.

The relationship matters

Human connection sits at the heart of my work. I want you to get a real sense of whether I’m the right counsellor for you, because the relationship we build matters just as much as the tools we use. I show up with warmth, honesty, and a genuine respect for your lived experience.

A little about me

Outside of my counselling work, I find joy in reading a good book, wandering through nature, and taking long, grounding walks with my dog. These quiet moments remind me of the importance of slowing down, noticing the world around us, and reconnecting with ourselves. These are the qualities I bring into my work — a steady presence, a gentle curiosity, and a belief in your capacity to heal.
